OUR PROGRAM
Have you experienced violence by a family member, a cohabitant, an acquaintance or a stranger?
The DOVE Center is here is help you. The DOVE Center is available 24/7 to offer safe shelter, provide advocacy & assist you with questions or concerns about domestic violence and sexual assault. In your time of need, we provide trained staff, advocates and volunteers for crisis intervention. We understand confusion comes along with being a victim of a crime. Please know this crime has occurred at no fault of your own; there is nothing you could have done to change your abusers actions. We believe in offering support and validation for your feelings and we strongly urge you to meet with our licensed case manager to begin a program aimed toward healing and empowerment. Our services are offered in both English and Spanish and are free and confidential.
SAFE SHELTER
The DOVE Center offers free emergency safe shelter for women and their dependent children. Our shelter is secure, confidential, has a home-like atmosphere and a friendly staff. If you are feeling unsafe in your home, we encourage you come into shelter. Our staff will assist you in crisis and legal advocacy as well as provide you with the tools needed to stay safe and become self-sufficient.
24-HOUR CRISIS LINE
The DOVE Center is available 24 hours a day to answer your questions, give referrals, or to simply listen to your concerns. This line also serves as a point of contact for anyone who may need immediate emergency assistance and/or safe shelter.
COUNSELING
The DOVE Center offers counseling referrals at no charge if you are a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault. Our partnership with many community agencies allows us to access the best services for your needs.
LEGAL AND MEDICAL ADVOCACY
The DOVE Center will assist with protective orders, stalking injunctions and offer legal advocacy during police interviews and court proceedings. Moral support and information is given to you and your family as well as friends and witnesses to the crime. Our staff and trained volunteer advocates also respond to hospital calls and provide medical advocacy to you if you are a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault.
SUPPORT GROUP
The Dove Center offers domestic violence support groups to both our English and Spanish-speaking clients. We also offer a support group for those affected by sexual assault. We offer community support discussions for non-offending family members, friends and citizens to help create an understanding of your experience. In addition, we offer a weekly youth program to facilitate a healthy recovery for children exposed to domestic violence. Developing a strong support system is the key to regaining your strength.
CHILDREN AND TEEN SERVICES
The DOVE Center offers services for dependent children who have witnessed domestic violence. We will meet with you and your children if they have been victims of physical or sexual abuse and will guide you to the necessary resources.
DATING VIOLENCE & SEXUAL ASSAULT
The DOVE Center will assist you if you are or have been a victim of dating violence or sexual assault. It is important to understand this crime is not your fault. If you have experienced dating or sexual violence, we encourage you to meet with our trained staff to help you make the journey back to reclaiming yourself.
The DOVE Center offers a full range of rape recovery programs for victims of sexual assault, marital rape, date rape and adult survivors of child sexual abuse. We have a 24 hour rape recovery advocate program to assist you at the hospital. We provide support, resources and advocacy; we strive to walk with you through the uncertainty.
REFERRAL SERVICES
The DOVE Center is able to assist you in finding needed resources and information related to your case. We understand the importance of obtaining vital community and state services for you and your family as you seek peace, control and self reliance.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The DOVE Center will assist in submitting a Crime Victim Reparation Request. This fund is intended to
offer aid for the financial hardship the crime has caused you or your family. We may be able to
assist with the following: housing, education, trainings, medical, transportation, food, personal
needs as well as documentation cost.
The DOVE Center provides services to all
people regardless of age, gender,
religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or
physical and mental ability.
